The major disadvantage is in the rotation process. The system depends on my correspondent updating their address book with the new address. However most people have multiple address books -- on different computers, in different database forms, on documents, eMail addresses scattered everywhere. It's extremely common to go to an old eMail, click reply and start typing the new message.

The system isn't taking into account the messiness and unco-ordinated condition of our correspondent's addressing (and our own). It requires rigor on our correspondent's part, a commodity that's not present in the majority of my correspondents lives.
