Documenting processes

I think it's always worth documenting anything that will make things work better. There are certainly different capabilities in different versions of OSX, for example, and having them recorded somewhere that snags the search engines can save people a lot of messing around.

Is Apache under Tiger (OSX 10.4) diverging from common *nux/*nix practice in any way? I think keeping an eye on the current version, and giving feedback to Apple, is the most useful thing we can do if something isn't exactly right.
