Lost and Found

This branch holds stuff that has become lost.

antitheft systems in cars, personal security, tracking by "Big Brother", parental control of their kids - "Do you know where your kids are?", never being lost again...

(a) Some humans are quite computer-averse and won't use them at all. Some will use computers, but keep them at arm's length. Many expect the computer to act like another human. When it no longer do what they want, they conclude it is sick and it needs to be taken to the doctor (local geek, repair shop...) who is expected to "make it better" so the human can go on as before, never understanding why their companion/slave "suddenly" broke down. (b) Shouldn't computer curriculum *start* with considerations of human-computer interaction? The whole point of having these gizmos and networks is to do things humans want to be done! Perhaps if more consideration of human foibles were infused into the curriculum, the averse feeling from people mentioned in (a) would have an easier and more productive time on it.
