Draft Followup on ID Isn't

What started out as a harmless idea to write a simple primer on the topic of the genetic algorithm and its applications in computing, as the second IKB newsletter, quickly became broadsided by a debate I didn't know about and was unprepared for.

Traffic spiked and I began to get posts that looked written in the language of science, but were based on findings I had never heard of. My ability to stay impartial got stretched and stretched until twang....

I researched and asked around, and now I see what this “intelligent design” and “intelligent genius” stuff is and where it came from.

I would direct everyone to read this New Yorker article:

I have also separated out anything close to religious content from the genetic algorithms item into a separate space. We’re here at the IKB to talk about the computing industry and computer *science*.

Thanks for your time.

Regards,
Andrew.
